When you use your text also use your photo but know what that photo means and why? It’s not enough to just write something and add a smiling photo. The blog you have written might be challenging or contain important and compelling information? The photo must fit. It must not challenge or contradict. The photo must MATCH THE TONE of what you have written, so they both work beautifully together and ‘on message’. For this you need expressions in your photo shoot. We read photos in the same way we read words, except photos tend to be more subconsciously read.

Photos have an abundance of meaning. Everything in your branding image says something. Even the stuff you hadn't necessarily wanted to include?

I have seen a business leader online completely bombarded with questions about something inappropriate he had ‘not seen’ in the back of his photo. It was actually a Mermaid at a fairground and he was on holiday. Consider ‘Mermaids’ and how they are ‘dressed’? Unfortunately the Mermaid was quite large in the background. Everyone spotted it. Everyone commented, many negatively. The image and post was finally taken down. It had detracted from his post and taken its the power.

Photography has a language of its own. So it follows you can use your brand photography to ‘talk’ to clients, to better engage with them.

We make decisions about you, your business status through the images that you use. When words and images work accurately together, they massively elevate your impact. You will suddenly notice your attractions and connections are more so.

Using branding photos, my clients find that their engagement doubles.

I had a client, a lawyer, used his brand photography Nottingham for the first time, He moved from ZERO engagement to 3000 views on his first post, on LinkedIn. His images had made him more personable online! They had spoken to his target clients.

Because you have introduced another dimension to your posts and online voice. We are all using photos online. Often these photos are phone shots which have their uses provided they are made with some thought to what’s in your photo frame. You image should be uncluttered and focus on you as its prime subject. You should be the largest part of the image, unless you are focussing on team.

  • So, imagine there was someone who not only analysed your business but could visualise it?

  • Someone who then could suggest the best way to photograph and visualise your brand?

  • Some one who made those images of you for you.

  • Someone who then explained what those images meant.

  • AND, Most importantly taught you how to use them.

  • So that you could read them and make the best impact and connection ever!

Business leaders feel so awkward regarding branding photos. They feel like they have to give away their soul. Pose in a way that feels deeply unnatural. They are fearful that photos will take their spirit and standing as a business because they are afraid a photographer will not capture them as they are and in a natural way.
