At one with the land, agricultural brand photography
Helen Holman is a marketing consultant in the agricultural sector, she lives and works from a biomass farm so naturally we made her brand photos from the centre of her world…at one with the land.
Helen is a biomass farmer and marketing consultant, Telford. She came to me via a recommendation. Helen is constantly busy with her own clients complex marketing agendas but felt she wanted to start pushing her own marketing and brand. To gain a sense of visual and brand image throughout her socials.
Agricultural brand photography would help her develop that brand and breathe her personable charisma into the brilliant copy that she already writes for others. And also develop and establish her own business and brand in it’s own right.
Agricultural brand photography for marketing consultants, I loved shooting in 100 acre’s of farm land.
Helen chose my annual monthly branding photography half-day plan because she liked the idea of a large pool of images that would represent the landscape throughout the changing seasonal landscape of the farm and year.
We originally agreed I would shoot in July 2022 when the crops were green and approximately 6 feet high. At this point the Miscanthus crop is lush and moving towards a December /winter harvest time. We drove out into the land amongst crop fields onto this 100 acre farm to capture natural photos of Helen amongst crop fields. This is where she has grown up. This is where she belongs. The fields were full of insects and I provided lunch for many of them in my Birkenstocks (open toe sandals, with hindsight not a great idea). Helen’s dogs go everywhere with her and know to jump in and out of the back before we drive off.
Agricultural brand photography over two shoots, provided Helen with photography in July and then again in February, when the landscape was significantly changed.
We kept in touch after shoot 1, ready to photograph the crop fields again before they were harvested. This proved difficult as the land can be too wet to drive onto in winter time and the first sign of a dry and land-stable day and it is harvested and gone. So after a few months in waiting, in February 2023, a few weeks after the snow had lifted and the land had dried out a little, we were on! At this time the crops are just dry stalks and are quite golden.
